Electric Pocket Launches QuickStart for Sony Ericsson P800 Smartphone
P800 users now can more easily find and launch their favorite applications

WYE VALLEY, UK (April 29, 2003) - - Electric Pocket Limited announces the launch of QuickStart for the Sony Ericsson P800 smartphone. QuickStart will enable P800 users to quickly access their favorite applications by simply pressing a “HotKey” and choosing the application they wish to launch.

QuickStart is designed as a time-saving application that enables users to avoid hunting through a lengthy file list to find and launch their most commonly accessed software products, including gaming, email, productivity, and multi-media applications, among others. The further benefit to QuickStart is that it enables P800 users to quickly and easily launch applications with one hand by pressing on the assigned HotKey, scrolling through their favorite applications with the jog wheel and selecting the desired software product they wish to launch. Users can also select applications to launch with their stylus.

The fully customizable QuickStart is as simple to set-up as it is to operate. To configure which applications are included in the QuickStart menu, a Set-Up tool is placed on the P800 during installation. Users select Set-Up and follow directions to assign a hardware button as a HotKey and pick which applications they wish to be included in the QuickStart menu.

Electric Pocket offers a number of applications for the smartphone and wireless communications industry. Most recently, the company launched a version of its enormously popular BugMe! reminder and note-taking application for the P800. Further offerings for smartphone users include enhancements to Pixer (MMS picture messaging), Mailer (wireless email), and Ringo (a ringtone manager for the Handspring Treo Communicator series), plus the launch of its new TapDial quick-dial program for Palm OS smartphones. Both QuickStart and BugMe! for the P800 smartphone were developed by Degel Software Ltd., a company also engaged by ICQ to port its messaging client.

“The P800 is another outstanding multimedia smartphone based on the Symbian platform and provides us with exciting opportunities to bring our unique blend of innovative, practical and fun-to-use applications to a new type of user,” said Iain Barclay, Electric Pocket’s co-founder and chief product officer.

QuickStart retails for $9.95 and a free trial is available from www.electricpocket.com
