| PhotoDial is a powerful
Speed-dial application for the Treo 650 and 700p. PhotoDial lets you create
photo buttons for any of your contacts, so you can quickly and
easily go straight into a phone call.
PhotoDial's photo buttons can also show in
your Treo application screen, making
it just as easy to start a phone call as it is to start an
application...
When you first run PhotoDial it sticks
itself to the Green phone button of your Treo, so you can launch it
just like a speed-dial. Press the Green button inside PhotoDial and
you go straight to the Phone application.
To create Photo Speed-dial buttons, launch the
PhotoDial application. You begin in the PhotoDial launcher. This gives
you a list of all the PhotoDial buttons that you have. You can dial
contacts directly from the PhotoDial screen simply by pressing one
of the buttons.
To move among the selected buttons use
the arrow buttons on your Treo or PDA. You can delete the selected entry
by choosing Delete from the menu.
To create a new PhotoDial contact, press
the New button. This lets you enter the name and number of a
contact and pick an icon or photo.
You can select entries from your Phone Book as well as enter them
directly.
When you create a new Photo Speed-dial button it
will automatically show up in your regular Application Launcher.
This gives you a very quick and very easy way to start a phone
call - just tap the button!
Photo Speed-dial buttons can be managed by your
Application Launcher like any other application. They can be
deleted or beamed, for example - and are backed up by HotSync.
- All Photo Speed-dial buttons are placed in a special
PhotoDial category in your application launcher
- Photo Speed-dial buttons are sorted alphabetically, use punctuation characters (like a space) to bring contacts to the top of the list
- Use the Preferences Application to assign contacts to 'Hard Buttons' - making it even easier to call your most frequent contacts.
You can even map a contact to the Treo's side-button and start a
call that way.
- Tap the "Find" keyboard button
(without pressing Shift) in PhotoDial to launch a search dialog,
this will open a Google search for you - direct from the
PhotoDial screen.
- Change the look of PhotoDial by
selecting "Skins" from the menu - you can go online and download
new skins from inside PhotoDial - or get them
here.
PhotoDial works seamlessly on Treo 650,
Treo 700p and recent Palm PDAs with Bluetooth support, namely the Tungsten
TX, T5 and LifeDrive.
PhotoDial was previously sold as TapDial,
which is still available for Treo 600 and other PDAs. TapDial users
can continue to use PhotoDial, and TapDial unlock codes will unlock
PhotoDial. |
